Sunday was the 18th & 19th AKU show, as well as the Pro Pac Dog Show. For the 19th AKU Show under Korean judge Mr Sae-Hyun An, Arson placed Best in Group!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!! This makes Arson’s third group placing in an AKU show which qualifies him for the AKU title. Arson is now AKU SKC CH RAGTIME THORNAPPLE WHERE’S THE FIRE!!!! I am so proud of my boy:)

I’m just over the moon. With stronger competition entering the ring, as well as professional handlers from overseas, it is amazing that Arson can perform so well while being handled by a novice handler (no offense to my sister. heehee). We had entered the show without any expectations only to be pleasantly surprised. Hopefully, we will have more placings in future as well!

Arson will take a well deserved break and get his promised buffet of treats:p I had told him that as long as he told a group 3, i would give him an unlimited supply of treats for one week. Now..i think i got to figure out a present for him!!!

Unfortunately, we have zero photos of Arson at the dog show as we didn’t pack a camera. Not sure why i didn’t use my hp?! *knock wall on head

Found out by accident that the cheap and easy way to feed pills is to stuff it into a BowWow Cheese Treat. Muahahaha.

Dogit in action

Being the usual tech goons that we are, it took us a few seconds of staring at the device before digging out the instruction booklet to figure out how to fill the dome with water. *VERY malu admitting it here. Heehee. Cos, honestly….its freaking easy to set up. We were pretty sheepish when we set it up. HAHA.

The dogit fountain available locally only comes as a set and not as a stand-alone. Its not a big issue since as a set, it looks a lot more impressive. Muahaha. Very happy looking at it.

Well, our greatest fear when installing the dogit was whether Arson our resident wimp would dare to drink out of it! Our second fear was whether they would play football with it. Forrest also likes to stick his paws into the water bowl -_-”

Luckily, after staring at the dogit for a few minutes, Arson finally got the message that he was supposed to drink from it. Whoopie again!

When we showed the dogit to the pups…they took to it really fast. Forrest, the fellow we all admit has his brain stuck in his puppyhood, likes to drink the water from the sides of the dome rather than from the basin, just like how puppies are supposed to.Sigh. Dunno whether to say he is cute or that it affirmed all our fears that his mentality is always stuck in his puppyhoodness. LOL. Panda takes big gulps from the basin.He’s a big boy It was officially a success! I think i need to buy myself another one so i can put it in the dining room as well!

A housefly came into the house today and teased the pups. It flew really slow and low past their heads and the dogs were like hungry crocodiles trying to catch the bug. But…when the bug flew towards them and into their face, they got a shock and bent their heads low to duck. What can i say? My chicken heart babies:)

To strangers, they look like big dogs. To me, they are always babies. How fast they grow!!! They turn 15 months in 2 days.

Our little gal started her heat today. I’m so sad! :(

When i was younger, i was always very amazed that my Uncle could recognise his dogs from their barks. He had 6 American Cockers, and he could tell who was the one barking at all times. Till now, i can’t tell the difference between my own dogs but i took it to the next level. I an tell who is licking me, without opening my eyes. ROTFL

Panda and Robin – Frantic licks. Very fast paced. Difference between the 2 is that Panda will use one paw to “paw” you while he licks you while Robin will push her face and body towards you as she licks you

Forrest – Slow licks but his tongue will really stretch from one end of your face to the other, to give you a complete “face wash”

Cassie – Slow licks as well, but after the 3rd of 4th lick, will start chewing on your lips

Arson – Slow lick, then fast, then back to slow

Audrey – F1 Formula race car fast. LOL. Will lean and push you down while she licks

I think i am almost at “guru” level now when it comes to my own dogs! ROTFL. Now..just got to tell the difference between barks!

I fought with a lizard. Not just any lizard. A lizard’s whose tail length is as long as my palm.

Those who know me well know how FREAKED out i am by any lizards, insects etc of any kind.

Today, when i went into the other half of the shop, the puppies as usual were free roaming the place. I was taking some newspaper out of the box when i suddenly noticed something dart out behind the box. I was thinking to myself ” Don’t tell me its a lizard..” when…A HUMONGOUS LIZARD RAN OUT TOWARDS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started screaming my lungs out at this time, and the pups all noticed the commotion (duh). Panda was the first one to notice IT, and ran forward to investigate. By investigate, means try to pick it up. The lizard at this point is running left right and centre with all the other puppies chasing after it, as if it was some remote toy car. I am at the side screaming “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE IT!!!!!!!!!” and “SHERYLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!” My sis finally arrives and she calls the pups into one of the rooms while i am left to decide what the *beep* i will do with it.

By this time, the tail had detached off the lizard and was BOUNCING and MOVING on its own (which i know is a defense mechanism but is still disgusting) and the lizard was very much still alive. I had hoped the lizard died when Forrest pounced on it as if he was a cat, and the lizard a rat but alas..it was not to be.

I took out the broom and dustpan and tried to sweep the thing out the door. You could see it panting and the tongue kept flicking in and out. Was starting to feel sorry for it when it suddenly turned its head towards me and started running in my direction. The screams started again, with the dogs barking to be let out of the room to join in the commotion. My stress level was heightening. Was beating it down with the broom when it decided to go belly-up and surrender. Immediately took the chance and gave my Tiger Woods golf swing to fling it out the door. Gave another tiger woods worthy swing to sweep it down the staircase, and this repeated itself till i finally got it into the grass and into so called “freedom”

I went back upstairs. Happy with myself for having solved a problem. Went to get a drink to reward myself when i decided to look out the window to see how the lizard was doing and whether it had returned back to nature. Guess what i saw instead? I saw that &%*^&((^^%&*% lizard walking back into the building into the foyer!!!!! Can you imagine??? Why would it want to come back? I really don’t get it. In the end…i went back downstairs with my broom and with my super mighty swing, swung the thing back onto the path leading to the building, and down into the main drain.

I sure hope it stays there because if it comes back, i think i will let the puppies have a go.

Cobi came in yesterday for a dead sea mud bath. Took some photos of him while he was waiting for his mum and dad to come.

You know what our dogs probably like best about The Pet Emporium? The UNLIMITED supply of treats they have been receiving. LOL. They have tried every single type and variety of treats we stock in the store and the ultimate 6 STAR rating goes to……. Spare Ribs by The Natural Pet Treat Company. It comes in 200g and 500g but we of course only open the 500g bags. LOL. The things they are willing to do for this treat is amazing. Sit, Wait, Paw, Stay etc. Audrey will even throw in “Bang” and “Wave” and “High Five!”.  ROTFL.

I actually switched the dogs to half raw recently because we don’t have the time to feed full raw anymore (ya, i know. Bad bad owner! ) They started the whole bad breath thing again (well, not actually bad breath but doggy breath, if you know what i mean) and the treats have really helped a lot! They have really nice smelling breath again and the ribs help clean their teeth too.
